look Collecting Ducts r of 2 types Cortical and Medullary Ducts so when u say Collecting Ducts they r considered to be whole. Unless u mean to tell me that ADH acts somewhere else.

NNL,ADH acts at distal tubule also for water reabsorbtion but irrespective of any hormone or any other reason, the maximum water reabsorbtion will be at PROXIMAL TUBLE ONLY....so

answer is C

i hate to disagree here but ADH doesnt act on Distal Tubules it acts on Collecting Ducts (Kaplan Pg 328 & pg 715). Distal Tubule is Entirely Impreameable to Water (Ganong).

Ur Question Simply ASks in A Dehydrated Pt. who has High Levels of ADH where will the Max. Reabsorption of Water Take Place ??

By this Understanding Answer becomes automatically Collecting Ducts. In Proximal Tubules there is only Passive Reabsorption of water Whereas In the Collecting Ducts Its Acitve Under ADH.

Its maximum Area of water REabsorption with ADH NOW IF U SPECIFICALLY ASKED WITHOUT then the answer Becomes Proximal.

NNL its kaplan question only and in explanation it says ADH acts on both collecting(<10%) and distal tubule(10%) but its distractor here NNL,question simply asking maximum water reabsorbtion which is 65% in proximal tuble and under ADH action on distal and collecting tubuls, water reabsorbtion has increased hence increasing osmolarity fo urine or can say make urine hypertonic and concentrated, and urine output less, but max will be still at proximal tubule...

PS--and sorry i forgot to add word "also" so have edited and added in previous post i.e ADH acts at distal tubule also...
