USMLE score; Step 1 82 ( 2nd attempt) step 2 85 ( 3rd attempt) CSA passed ( first attempt) I have three months for an observership volunteer at a free clinic and childrens hospital once a week 2 LOR from Us indian doctors Last year I am only got 3 calls when I applied in Nov 2006. Am I out of the running? Im not sure what to do. Started studying for my step 3 but feel that i might not be ready for it. Can some one guide this lost sole please. You are not out of it till you think you are out. Rather than wasting your time on Step 3 , I would advise getting some more hands on experience and more LORs. Its better to have this experience in a hospital rather than an office. My 2cents

I think except for ur multiple attempts, you are in a pretty good shape than other IMGs. Just focus on positive things...work on CV and PS. Apply early and wisely; sort out programs that accept multiple attempts, and work on interview skills..... Best of Luck! its my 2 cents!
