ShweHope99.9998 ......Thanks very much.....I hope ggt comes back...he is such a charm in this forum...I think the biggest difference was not able to do enough QUESTIONS in my earlier attempts......In my last attempt i read very very thorougly and tried my best to supress the fact that i had already attempted this exam twice and tried to u know read as if i was doing it for the first time...I dont know ..i may be pyshic or something but that was what i kept telling myself and drew inspiration from this forum and from my other succesful friends who were almmost like me comparitively in studies. I took each subject at a time...Tried to read it very throughly but somehow the familiarity aspect always played a role. From my so called experience i figured out that PATHOLOGY was the thing ...In my first and second attempts i ready goljan without the videos...In those days it was very high aimly to read goljan...I read the text book and the review book....But in my last attempt on my first 2 readings i listened to the tapes and read kaplam and brs path....But i thought kaplan was enough for doing questions and brs was just allowing myself to somehow feel that i am retaining stuff..or in a way i guess i was excited to read something really different since all the other books were so monotonous and i was not sure on how much i was retaining from goljan notes..so i just heard goljan and read kaplan. Pharm ---i just read over and over the first 3 chapters in one take and the last chapters in other take....like general principles, ans, cns, cvs....In one shot...and the rest in one take...so in some revisions i statred from the last and in some i started from the begining just to give my self a little bit of variety because by the time i was reaching the end in any subject my interest levels were shooting way down....And the rest of the subjects were some way not so bothersome...I was doing badly on anatomy initially only because of the memory...Then by the end i picked up on that...In my last attempt i heard all the lectures of kaplan on a dvd and studied as if i was starting afresh. I guess the whole key was to forget that i failed earlier and to take up the task like i was doing it for the first time....Honestly, i probably could have not done it again had i failed this time...The way it is in my life is that by anyways i have to get a residency. There simply is no other way for me. So finally it was good thing i passed..now i have to wait for the score but i would be very happy no matter how much i get and i am starting to study for the step 2 from tmmorow and first time in these six years i am excited about doing anything in my life..good luck all.

v2k , you're welcome.
5 week prep is usually some last minute intense study after yrs & yrs of learning, study or freshly grad or still in school that in touch with the subj mostly as same way as usmle , not the brand new start with all new unseen subj, topics from knowing nothing or as same way as usmle .

Very honest, inspiring post .Could i suggest "Moderators please ,please make it sticky "
This is truely inspirational .Hardwork is all the genius probably known to mankind .But your remarkable determination to never give up is inspiring .
You gave a new meaning to the proverb i once read
"The thing we call failure is not falling down but staying down".
