Hi guys , thanks for the concern shwe and mt. Though my surgical scar was healing I felt immense fatigue which is diminishing now and I feel I have more energy (i.e. more than 30 mts sprints). Will try to report in my progress regularly.

Wow! Almost a while since I was here........Well the good news is journal I am back. Today is a new day ......Today is also the first day at work ! Feels like the first day of school except no new shoes & backpack! It time to get started on the USMLE front to......do as much as I can everyday.....

That's good motto, do as much as u can in study for the test , me too sis , me too .
Just do not lost track or long break, hard to come back , stay in the game , circle, study or not , but if in this same environment here, sooner or later , not too late, u, we all will be in residency in no time.

Dear TG , since ur up to physio , let start CPR of ur journal here, do post at laest once a wk to get ur journal easy , accessible by us & ur self , to post ur progress or even just vent , but that will haunt or remind u to back to any study , any steps u like to do for exms
Next time u better resucue ur journal with DC shock to get it in page one
When is ur physio , chpt 1 is ok, since it's a start . Without a start , there will b any way to get to finish line .

Hello everyone.......Yes target's back in the Step1 arena .... Shwe you are right - my journal does need resuscitation.
Well folks I have had a long break since last year due to 1) 2) 3) .... reasons but I realized I could go on in life with reasons to post pone or not take this exam. So this time it is STEP 1 in the midst of problems - I have just changed my mind set. I work full time and single mom but Step1 will be a priority amongst these important port folio's in life.
For the first time in 8 years of thinking of taking the exam ......I actually sent my application in even without my FIRST READ! I cant believe it ........CAN YOU?
Well wish me luck and encourage me and I will report once a week! I know I can.......so do you.

I did cardio and vascular disorders in path and did questions from UW. Slow because I had deadlines at work too. But I will keep moving forward even if slow!

Hope everyone is studying their minds off! Yday was a chilling out day .....took along drive......today back to studies ..managed to glimpse at GI pathology and onto Hepato & pancreas. Must listen to our guy too! Would like to do physio and pharm side by side but still not catch up .........I know I will eventually.....Happy studying to us all

same here I watch TV yst one show only .
Now back to study
Start with small then when speed pick up, add more & more sis .
Am only in patho , not going to add others since already alot to get it done well .
Also remember to review waht u have done . Am not in that satge yet

Dear journal,
Today a new day ! I feel good and upto studying . Woke up at 5 and finished Hepatobiliary and pancreas in RR Should revise though!.........Yoga,.......meditation........dropped son on time at school ( I feel my day starts with victory if I get that done I am doing good ...much better than before. I feel I am falling into the groove. Just got to pick up speed. Isnt it amazing that the subjects you loved in medical school, you still remember a lot ! It brings a smile on my face when I predict without reading....Target you go girl!

Well, well well.........Felt like I lived my whole life again yday. The previous day was good .....did renal...but I had kind of noticed that my respiratory rate had increased even during rest.......and was panting at chores that I used to do normally for the past few days. Well just thought I will check it out Wed morning before heading for work !
Who is that guy/gal who said a visit to the doctor can change your life? Hats off. Because I had vague symtoms but I got a good doc who investigated me with an emergency CT.....gold standard for diagnosis.....of????? Yup Pulmonary emboli. Lo and behold, my last post could have been my last ..........but SOMEONE broke all my big emboli and made them microemboli which have almost gone to all lobes of lungs.......You must think I am very old....I am an old graduate in my thirtees....and for some of you who know me I had a severe endometriosis last year precipitating acute abdominal pain and had a laparotomy to remove a chocolate cyst but my gyn said I was one of the worst she had seen with adhesions and pelvic peritoneal spread. So she put me on Depot Leupron (GnRH agonist) for 6 months and contraceptives later for artificial menopause ..........I was pain free and thought I could get the step1 done this year!
SO here I am which the complication of contraception................. not that I needed any as I am single mom with a lovely 9 yr old friend& son! Bottom line I have two diseases, one as the result of treating the other and the treatments are completely opposite. For endometriosis my gynaec doesnt want me to bleed as I will have more scarring and adhesions and my physician has started me on heparin (which they sent me off home with to inject it myself!) . Sure felt like a doctor giving an injection after a long time!
Anyway, like I said this time I am not in the Step1 arena not knowing problems come our way! It would be a shame to die without cherishing one of my dreams........if I can still make it ....It also made be wonder, what each one of us want our lives to stand for..........and I read in one of blogs from my favorite author Robin Sharma.....It had deeper meaning to me today than it would have a few days ago.........
One father said something to his son on his deathbed I needed to share with you. At the very end, reflecting on the life he could have lived, he said:
"Be ashamed to die until you have won a victory for humankind."
What will your victory be? How many lives will you influence through your leadership and devotion to excellence. How will the generations who will follow know that you have been here?
Just take some time to think about it .........Life!
I am not quitting till I have quit! So Cheers , keep at it !

 TARGET!!!, Thank God you didn't hesitate and went to see the doctor, and thank God it was a good doctor, as you say, that decided to do the CT scan. I am releived and glad that you are better, please take very good care of yourself.
Wow, I felt goose bumps while I was reading what you posted, pulmonary emboli !!!!, sounds and it is frightening, like you say, your last post could have been your last, because you did have vague symptoms, maybe someone else without medical trainning would of waited a little bit longer to go to the doctor, I am very glad you didn't wait much longer.
This is a life changing experience I think, let's go full steem ahead!, and be greatful and cherish the life that we have, I trully beleive that God has a great purpose for our lifes and it is our vocation and obligation to don't give up and fulfill it.
Ok, this is it, we are all here for you Target, please do post how you are feelling frequently and again I thank God you are ok. Hope your son didn't get to frightened, and God bless both of you.
