I am also planning to do my USMLE step 2 ck in september, 2007. haven't done step 1 yet.
And amazinly I started paediactrics yesterday from the Kaplan Material, however, it is not going well. Will join you if possible.
P.S. I am too afraind to sign up for the exam, and don't even practice questions. I keep getting them wrong.
