AS Far AS I know, you still need to pass usmle. Some programs will be happy to welcome you onboard, others will not that is why you apply to so many programs because you really don't know what programs needs what type of residents.

what is the procedure to match for transplant surgery fellowship. i have also complited surgiry resedency in india

hi gowda you just have to apply through ASTS website. Its very simple.

if you do the transplant fellowship, by 6months into teh program, then you get good referenes. you will have a much better chance of getting into surgery in 2009 than in 2008 if you dont do the fellowship. i say, go for the fellowship. ( you still need to pass the USMLE reasonably well too)
