Do you think guys that it is a very bad idea to skip the handwashing and use gloves for the examination. Just in order to save time. I will be grateful for input

well..... hand washing doesnt take so much of time and wat i did was i asked few questions during hand washing.... gloves can b ok too ... but u need to tell the patient why u using gloves ( cut on hand or rash ) other wise u r giving him hint U GOT CONTAGIOUS DISEASE....which i dont think so anyone really mean it.... SOMETIMES u waste time finding ur size of gloves .... now u dont want ur gloves too tight or too loose rite ....... might as well wash ur hands and wipe with tissue . and also if wearing gloves its difficult to feel thrill , heave , or TVF

I'm sorry but i have to disagree... There is absolutely no downside to wearing gloves. You have the choice of wearing gloves or washing hands, and i don't think you NEED to tell the patient you're wearing gloves because you have a cut/rash.. etc. In fact i recommend it because you'll save time. I used a glove in every case, and it takes all but 10 seconds to put on gloves. And even with gloves, you would be able to feel thrills/heaves.. etc. I mean come on, these are thin rubber gloves! It's entirely a preference thing. Do what you're comfortable with.
