you get this list with your score-report when you purchase an NBME online.

Of course it does! Where do you think the "list" you copy/pasted ORIGINALLY came from!!!!!

No it doesn't have a 2-digit correlation. It only shows a 3-digit correlation. I'm not sure where this "list" came from, but certainly not from the NBME Self-Assessment website. Does anybody know where this list came from?

In the section where they give you your performance profile... SCROLL DOWN... it's right there. (perhaps you didn't notice in that "Performance profile page" that you can scroll down?) (or perphas you didn't purchanse an NBME test? it won't be on the NBME website, it only shows up once you complete a test, or whenever you go back to review your performance for any given test) ..

I took the test; there is no 2-digit correlation. There is only a 3-digit correlation. Here is a Sample performance report from the NBME website: https://apps.nbme.org/nsasweb/doc/sample_CCSSA.pd... It gives a CCSSA score (NBME score) and an Approximate Step 2 Three-digit score But no 2-digit score.

For some reason i assumed you all were asking about the three-digit correlation (which i have seen asked on this forum countless times). Sorry bout that!! Taking the Step 2 in 2 days must be messing up my mind!! I need some rest

from what i've seen people usually get poorer scores on nbme 3 as compared to the other forms...guess it must be because its tougher than the rest. this means u probably dont need to worry, just depend on ur nbme 2 scores. another option would be to take form 1 which might help to sort things out

hey good luck supra! go for it, you're gonna do fine. One thing i want to add to the correlation topic... I see that u'r using a mean of 217 and a standard deviation of 23 and thereafter go on to calculate scores corresponding to 1 and 2 standard deviations. Although one might assume that a score of 1 and 2 standard deviations above the mean would imply a score of 84 and around 97.5 percentile respectively but that is not the case with USMLE scores because they do not follow a normal distribution. If u look at the curve for USMLE scores u find that a score of 2 standard deviations actually means a score higher than 97.5 percentile...so when we say somebody has a score which is 2 standard deviations from the mean it implies a higher percentile than that for a normal distribution... I'll give u an example i recently saw with one score...the 3 digit score was 260, the mean for the test was 218 and the standard deviation was 23. This would mean that a score that would encompass 95 percent of the scores would be 264, that is two standard deviations from the mean, as happens with a normal distribution. But what the score report said was that 95 percent of the scores lay within 260, which was less than that calculated using mean and standard deviations scores. In effect this means that the MLE scores are less spread out than a normal distribution and cluster very closely around the mean with very few scores far away from the mean.... I dunno how clear my description has been but this how the MLE score distribution goes...
