can anyone guiode me how to get ACLS certification by AMEICAN HEART ASSOCIATION? and does it help in getting residency ? i am an img who is not yet ecfmg certified.

To my understanding it is not of clear advantage or disadvantage to get ACLS before the match. Almost all programs offer the course as part of the orientation(for free). If you still would like to do it beforehand and you have the money (fees vary - from $50 to $180) then you should contact a local hospital or college- in a busy area they may offer the classes as often as several times a week. It takes a little research and several phone calls on your part. It does not really matter that you are not ECFMG certified yet. I don't think they require medical degree/diploma at the time of application- as long as you are able to digest the material and pass the exam ___________________ If you judge people you have no time to love them

It won't help in getting a residency. In fact, many programs will make you take it again when you are hired. ___________________ bbb - trying to combine common sense and humour into realistic answers, but not going to guess on anyone's chances of getting into a position....
