hi guys,
how many total blocks [questions] are asked in addition to CCS and how many need to be correct to pass [75]?

1st day-7 blocks of 48 qs
2nd day-4 blocks of 36 qs + 9 CCS cases of 25 min each
MCQs 75% of test
CCS 25 % of test
Overall % to pass=around 65% correct (no body really knows how CCS is score)
Please correct me if wrong

that means one needs roughly 312 correct responses[65%] out of 480 mcqs. I don't understand what is 185? in the passing threshold. Is step 3 passing score based on percentile [e.g. 65th percentile of the top scorer]? [like in other steps] All that I want to know what will it take me to pass this step. I am a bit worried as my UW avg score is 52% but I am at the 17th percentile. this means only 17% people have scored less than me. I guess overall standard of people practicing UW is great or I have got to do even better [to bet better percentile] to pass. Pl help, dont get put off.......

k001, hi, welocome to the club of 'what am i going to do'.
i averaged 52% and 15th percentile too on usmle up till 3days ago. i was very very worried so i took nbme cos i am sitting my exam tomorrow. i scored a decent 480. i was aware of my deficiencies esp in cardio, gi, nephro, endo, resp, rheumat..... ok, it sounds like everything. so i have been studying like 16hrs a day for the last few days. my last test (ie unused) at usmle world, i scored 68% while average was 58%. then i retook teh ones i marked and some of the incorrect ones. i scored a whopping 84% (average 64%) and high 70's too. so dont you fret too badly. just brush up some more and you will be good. i am going tomorrow morning with a positive attitude. ( by the way, i did the usmle cd questions and got 67%,71%,79%,84%) and 100% in the video. so dont be discouraged.
