hi guys, i am an IMG graduated in 2004. i have in step 1 - 87 second attempt, step 2-87 first attempt, cs - pass in first attempt. has 3 months of US clinical experience and 2 LOR from US physicians. i have green card. i am applying this year for residency in IM. is there any hope for me to get a residency. how much will my attempt cost me. any plan on how to choose hospitals, i am very depressed cos where ever i see , i see first attempt criteria. plz plz help......any knid of input is appreciable. thanx

green card will take you places ...one green card can take care of three attempts and you have just one ..there is absolute hope for you ...do research on hospitals ..call them...make a list detailing selection criterion for all programs ...if you were a horse and a smart one i will certainly bet on you winning the race ..there is no reason in this world why you cant win this race ...depresssion ,worry and anxiety is costing you ..if you are smart and can foresee the good tings that are going to happen to you then you will do away with such emoitions ..rage blaze n passion should be your game as of now .

What's wrong with 87's? It's not like you have crappy scores.....And Laptop is correct - the greencard will really help strengthen your application.
