a pt with dysphagia + abnormal oesophagial peristalsis .Name the cranial nerves involved ?

There is more than 1 CN involved? grin

I'd say CN X (Vagus) because:
1) It innervates the viscera of neck, thorax, abdomen. It helps with peristalsis (parasympathetic system) and it goes all the way to the left colic flexure.
2) Helps in swallowing, therefore its damage leads to dysphagia.

But it can also be a Jugular foramen problem (CN 9,10, 11) but the patient would have some more problems, pertaining to the other 2 CN.

What's the answer?

p.s. anatomy is my weak pt!
