step-3 for intw calls

Hi, like many others I have one query is step-3 really important for getting an intw call or is it ok if we have the result by november when the intws start. Hey please post your thoughts on this subject.

It's doesn't hurt for an interview - especially if you want an H visa. Make certain that you pass on the first attempt - a fail on Step three will hurt you no matter what visa you are interested in.

Thanks for the reply bbb,so it is fine as long as we are ECFMG certified to get the interview calls. Is there any distinct advantage for those who have their step-3 result before september 1st for getting the interview calls. Is it fine if we have good scores on step-1 and step-2 and try to get some USCE before that magic date of september 1st purely in context of the calls. Please provide your input.

as bbb wud say...try to send as complete an application as u can, as quickly as u can... i think majority of progs start reviewing applications by sept 10-15th, so if u hav ur results before that , then very good for u. the more usce u have and can show it in ur caf at time of application, the better for u in terms of calls..

Danke Prader-willi, that's my exact quote (Have I said it too many times??) - some programs don't require ECFMG certification at the time of interview, but some do.

Hi prader willi and bbb the dilemma is because I have an observership in August which I have got so I am in a dileema wether to go ahead for my step-3 or to go for the observership. There is no universal answer to what is best but given the scenario which will be helpful for securing interview calls. I want to know if its reasonable to take step-3 in september so that I will be able to go for the observership in august will that be a good idea.

step 3 in september will be okay ..do observership in august ,get a good lor from there and then finish off the step 3 in september ..very effective and feasible plan for you in the given scenario ..

step 3 helps for sure in getting interview calls ....usce /uslor also helps ...so best of both is bestest

i ws in the same dilemma 2 months back...keep preparing fr step 3 while doing yr observership...and tk the exam whenevr u r ready...u cd tk it in sept/october....and at the same time u wd get yr lor from the observership place...this is wht i did
