We all know that child abuse and elder abuse is mandatory reportable, but what about spousal abuse? In MOST STATES it is NOT mandatory reportable, but in SOME STATES it IS!

The following information is from: http://www.aafp.org/afp/20021201/medicine.html
Reporting requirements for domestic violence vary by state, so physicians should be aware of their own state laws. Five states have mandatory reporting (California, Kentucky, New Hampshire, New Mexico, and Rhode Island). Community and national resources for victims of domestic violence should be offered to the patient

So for the purpose of CK, should we say non-reportable?

For the test they need you to know, the GENERAL IDEA, I dont think they will be picky of what state yes and which is not.

I didnt knew about that exceptions. I saw questions in banks about that, and SPousal abuse is not mandatory. It was a 64 y/o female abused. The idea was that even though she was near to turn to a senior, she was not yet and u didnt have to report the abuse. I read that you turn to an elderly when u are 65
