what are the tests to check the cerebellar vermis?

  #2

Vermis mostly receives projections from spinocerebellar tracts that register unconscious proprioception. Physical exams that test this system are point-to-point movement, such as finger to nose, heel to knee. Pt will probably display a positive Romberg sign or even sway with eyes opened, generally poor balance.

Vermis is mainly involved in axial balance. So stance and gait are the key; subtle dysfunction may be obvious only with tandem walking. FNT and HKT may be normal as they are mostly controlled by paravermian part and cerebellar hemispheres.

and rapid alternating movements?
