hello,
i m new here-i just submitted the form online for cs and ck-but it shows that that they dont hav any spot be4 jan-and even in jan the spots r going so fast-i donno how long it usually takes to get the permit and wud i be eligible to get a spot in this yr?any comments

from the day you apply, it takes 5 days for them to complete your registration process. they do notify you via email once when the application is reviewed, and then again when your registration is completed. and you would be ELIGIBLE to pick a slot this year if u can find one.
i applied on friday and got my registration today. and yes, its scary to see the grim situation of CS dates. even if i had any before, i have no center preferences anymore. just want an exam date anytime between sept to dec. good luck in your hunt, hope this helped!

Hello,
usually it doesnt take more then 10 days... but mostly its only 5 days... Once you are registered you can look at the actual dates available... I think you can get the date this year... But schedule as soon as you get ur registration.
Don't wait as you can always reschedule but once you loose the dates you not gonna get them back. The other thing you can do is ONLY IF YOU DONT GET ANY DATE. plan to take the exam at certain time and then wait if someone cancels arround that time. It helps if you live in an area where the center is located. By the way what is ur state of residence?

zoeya: no i havent taken the CK yet. thats another problem. i am working on it now and i hope to appear in it in mid august. and then i am giving myself a minimum 15 days to prepare for CS. (i'm a desi IMG so i will need a fortnight for it!) after that i hope to travel to LA cuz ive been noticing thats the only center where exam dates of fifteen to twenty days later do appear, albeit for few minutes.
fox-glove: thats the backup plan. if nothing else, i'll go to an exam center city, completely prepared and sit on the CS scheduling site like a reptile. i will choose LA or Houston for the purpose. but i desperately hope it doesnt come to that.
question: dont the dates ever open for Atlanta, Chicago, Philly? people must be cancelling their appointemnts there for the same reason that they do in other centers?!?!

hope i get my permit pretty soon cuz i called ECFMG and they told me that my certification statement has not been there yet-which is strange-i pray to ALLAH for HIS blessings-
well i m in chicago

Hello zoeya!
I hope INSHALLAH you get your permitt soon. fortunately you are in chicago and there is a center in chicago as well... so incase you dont get your permitt in time and you have your fees submitted and want to give exam this year... then keep looking for some cancellation at chicago center... cz I know lot of ppl cancel there test just before exam... I think you will get a date this year without a problem... lemme know if you wanna know anything else...
