Hey !!

I know most of you have already applied for stp1 and I want to ask when is the best time to apply. I mean how many months in advance you have to apply prior to the date you want to give stp1?? And sth else.. what papers you need from your school??Are there any officially translated scripts needed? I know that all the answers are in the stp 1 bulletin but I need some fast info since I don't have much time this period to go through the whole bulletin !!

whatever you remember can help me ,, you don't have to be exact !!

i too thought the same thing - its time consuming to read the bulletin; if i ask people i can get fast answers. but believe me its very easy to go through the bulletin, and its very very very important to go through the bulletin.
anyways, i am planning on giving step 1 in december, and i just finished my application today. for 2008 date you have to wait till august, coz thats when the 2008 bulletin will be released.
you don't need to get any papers from the med school. just send in two copies of your medical diploma along with three to four other forms ( 344 345 187 and 186 if you are a graduate, different forms if you are still a student, see thats why you need to read the bulletin) to the ecfmg. they will send them to your school for verification and official transcripts. and again there is a 'name' issue. if your current full name doesn't exactly match with that on the diploma you have to get verification. for me, my medical diploma had my last name as initial, so i emailed ecfmg and they replied that its ok. but that doesn't mean your name difference will be accepted. so the bottom line is read the bulletin grin

dude! i didn't mean to confuse or scare you. sorry if it appeared so. just that there are so many rules and regulations for this ECFMG process and you cannot afford to make a mistake. so try to take time and read the bulletin.

according 2 FA ppl 6 mo in advance

u have u verify that u finish ur preclinical phase of medschool=> letter from dean

thx for the answers you gave me !!! I will begin my application 6 months in advance although the dean letter might be a problem...and I don't have a diploma too since I am still a student !!
I will read the bulletin first thing after my semester exams !!

anyways thx a lot for the info .. they were not confusing at all!!!

DEAR U DONT HAVE 2 HAVE DIPLOMA U HAVE 2 VERIFY THAT U FINISH UR PRECLINICAL STUDIES

I knew that !!! Otherwise I wouldn't get in the trouble so soon !!!Anyways the verification has to be from yous school's dean ?? I mean can't the school secretary sign it??
