is it atrial myocytes right atrium??..promotes natriuresis..in response to strech of rt atrium..as it assumes volume overload.. :?

Hmm, I thought it can be either or (R/L Atria). It also is a vasodilator, increases GFR (increased V of blood being ejected from heart); decreases renin secretion. It also inhibits Aldosterone??? but can have a direct effect on Na excretion as well. I remember it because it does everything opposite of Aldosterone. Correct me if I am wrong, please!

i too think that it can be from right/left atrium . relased in response to increased pressure in atrium. causes relaxation of vascular smooth muscles ,dilation of arterioles and decrease TPR. causes increased excretion of salt (natriuresis) and water -->reduces blood volume . inhibit renin release .
