Hello Everybody, I took the exam today; it feels good to be done whatever the result is. There have been times that I thought I will have to study Kaplan notes for the rest of my life. Let’s talk about the exam: It was a very fair exam and I did not feel the confusion that I felt after step 1. Most of my questions were patients with non-specific symptoms and there were little clues here and there. There weren’t so many pictures, only a few MRIs and a few ECG. Every topic is covered. I got at least 7-8 rash questions. I was asked what a doctor is supposed to know: Skin lesions, osteoporosis, AIDS, many psychiatry q’s and little epidemiology (surprisingly), and of course plenty of internal medicine. There were some q’s I had no idea about. There were some other q’s that scenario was not complete to make a diagnosis. I think FA is good source about high yield facts. Just try to remember all of it. ))))) I think everybody has some ideas how to study, the only thing I would like to say: USMLEWORLD, USMLEWORLD, and USMLEWORLD. There were some questions that are exactly the same and some other very similar. I studied with Kaplan notes and UsmleWorld. I finished 95% of the questions. Also looked into Kaplan Qbook, but did not finish all of it. I think Kaplan and UW is enough; however I wish I repeated the UW questions, at least some of it. I will fly to visit my family in a couple of days. I will be more than happy to answer any questions. Good Luck to everybody….

Hey anatolia, congrats on getting it over with. So how much of the exam do you think was covered by UW? Does it cover the 80 to 85% that they say they try to prepare one for? Also, did you do the Kaplan Qbank? Did you find it useful?

Hello again, Coolmavs, In my opinion, UW covers the high yield subjects very well. There were some q's in the exam that were extreme, probably just experimentation q's. They may not be in the UW, other than that UW was great. I did not do the Qbank. For step 1 I had done it, but I like UW more and for step 2 I just got the UW. Olcancn, Thanks and yes I am from TR. Are you?

Hello, Ouhsc: HIV, osteoporosis, rashes, dementias, adverse reactions of some drugs, substance abuse, Abrubtio placenta, intrapartum problems, late decelerations, Esophagus Ca.and many more. They are going to ask you what you expect but they ask the same things in so many different ways. Sometimes it is hard to catch it at the first sight. Drpepper7: I used 2004 edition FA. I never saw the new one. I do not know the difference, but I like this one. Bhanusupriya: Yes I just read Kaplan notes, I think they are enough Thank for your good thoughts. GL

Hello Everybody, I am back; I had a great time with my family. I got my result by the way: 221/ 91. It is not the best but not very bad either, considering I graduated 10 years ago, spent most of my time in research and just studied 2 months. As I said before; do not waste your time with extreme syndromes and diseases just know everything about very common, high yield diseases. Thank you all for your good wishes…
