Hi guys... I am very very worried and I could use some advice. I am 33 weeks pregnant, I´ve been preparing usmle step 2 ck for months, but being pregnant and dealing with some issues have made me last too much in this preparation. I am on my first read of kaplan books and have left surgery and psych... and my due date is in august... and I really want to apply for next years match and all I have left is this exam, so if I could get it before giving birth, it would be perfect as I can be certified by when my baby arrives and enjoy all the time with her until I get into the residency... Is there any way I can score well, finishing whats left in a month? I need help... or at least encouragement =) Good luck to you all!!!

Do an NBME test to see wher you stand right now. I am not sure you can set a date for August, though, since it's already July...confused

Thanks Arlete! I was thinking to take the NBME in a couple of weeks, with at least my first read finished... let´s see but thats a good idea smiling face... Now they changed that u had to pay one month before your elegibility period, so if I want the trimester August-october, I could still pay until August 10th... and maybe still get a date in august... but well, let´s see how it goes, the most important right now is that i finish studying... Thanks!!!

Surgery will not take you long. Read through the 2nd part of the book - that's enough. But psychiatry - do not underestimate it - it needs work. How are you scoring on your tests? If you went very well through all the rest - than you can finish psych and surgery in a month. Good luck!
