HI PEEPS...
i just started prepring for step-2 ck.....i knew i had to do UW..so,i got it as a file ...from my friend about 12 months back.....250 quesions r missing in it.i have abt 1790 qs...and i cant use it for my assessment....m planning step-2 in sept......
so my UW is OLD and INCOMPLETE and doesnt give me a "%"...so do u think it will affect my preparation??

Definitely not. If you read posts here, people say the best use of UW is for learning, not for self-assessment. For assessment, use NBME. Or if you want it free, use the downloadable Kaplan Simulated Exam. Go to usmleforum dot com and search for it there. Good luck!

I agree.... UW does not assess..... it is a powerful weapon to get prepared buuuuuuuut when you do your questions try to time yourself...if you can't time yourself and answer it without looking at the answer already then I would suggest to buy the whole thing because what I think that UW gave me in my prep for step 2ck was 2 things: knowledge of all kinds of cases and things that you will not find anywhere else and....the most importan thing..... it is a powerful preparation for the real thing since you have to read those long neverending questions in a time frame and be able to finish in time and that my friend is incredibly helpful in the real thing... the bank is deffinitely worth the money and in fact is not that expensive. If I studied again for CK I would do it again. I will not get tired of saying the same thing over and over again...UW is one of the best important study material for CK and I owe my 99 to it. So if you ask me buy it!!! (that is if you can't time yourself like in the real exam and answer by yourself the questions...if the bank you have is already answered it will not help because you will get the knowledge part but not the practice part.....) That is just my humble opinion. Good luck on your prep and your exam.
