Hello I'm a Central American med school graduate almost starting my USMLE application. Now I graduated from med school in Dec 06 already took Step 1 but havent received results yet and am looking into USCE thing. Ive read about Obervantships, Internships and alot of other "ships" but Im a bity confused now. I know a few doctors from my country that work in the US and I think I can get what I would think is an "Observantship" because I would be under his "care" and follow him a round and stuff...now would this be qualified USCE?? If not what is the difference between that and an Externship for example?? and how do I get one...also, I have worked with many US doctors as they have come down to my country for Medical Missions and what not...and have asked them for LOR's would those be good enough or do they have to be directly from doctors in any US hospital I plan to visit? Im sure the answers may be in any of the thousands of threads here but every time i read a new one i get more confused and frustrated! So please anyone that could summarize what the deal with the USCE is....I would be really thankful (in the good way hehe) THanks *Keep on Rockin in the Free World*
