Lord,Please let me follow in ur footsteps as u hold my hand and help me reach for the stars.Help me get a 99.
This is how I'll do it.Lets start with Patho.The most imp of all subj.
July 6th-20th-KaplanDVD & LN, Goljan notes-Pathology.
Daily 1hr of Pharmac & Micro. each.
Today-July 6th 1)Fundamentals of Patho 2)Cell Injury 3)Inflammation 4)Wound Healing & Repair 5)General Micro. 6)Toxicology .

Edie, U R welcome.I know I keep coming back to this journal, but right now my footsteps are unsteady-taking babysteps.Need friends like u to keep me going.I know 2 people who are thinking of taking step 1 usmle this yr,but thats all they r doing-thinking.Neither of them is really serious as yet.I need people who are determined,coz my stepls will keep faltering-so I need to be able to look upto others who r more strong willed than me.
I was very sleepy.Took an hr long nap.Don't feel refreshed.feel even more tired.But come rain or shine I am gonna finish Cell Injury.

Hi p2B I would like to get done with this exam as soon as possible.. but I have just started my journey ..lets see how much time I take... guessing may be it will take 3-4....? mnths..

p2b ,
yes, thinking is just thinking. Even you are studying , you're still away, though closer than the thinker , but to make our dream comes through , we have to dream 1st , then , show it with action quick by studying right material in continuous, consistant then , in no time you'll know you're so ready for the exm, just do not miss that time, since if not know or able to grasp it , you'll ends up re-starting all over again though it will be faster than 1st time, but still you miss your peak, best time to study best just abit more or even not to go for the D day .

To all my fellow prep4usmel members, Thanx for visiing my journal. It feels nice to know that there are people out there,virtually starangers who are working toward a commom goal and at the same time helping each other to achieve this goal.Thankyou once again.
Well had a major hiccup in my schedule.Had to take care of some work immediately, so haven't touched my books for the past few days.Now its back to business. Patho for some reason is not working for me.Cannot retain more than a few pages a day.After that my mind just shuts on me.Need to revise my schedule & study startegy.I know I shouldn't be chamging my plans every time,but since this is the beginning of my prep ,I think I can allow myself to do so.So this is what we'll do.Start with Biochem DVD's and LN. Devote 2 hrs for Patho daily at the end of the day.
Biochem-24 Chps. Work 3 days a week.Will only get 4-5 hrs of studying time on work days.Will have to makeup on days off.Have to focus.My priority is my hubby & son.But will have to sacrifice quality time with family, to reap the rewards later.So don't think ur being selfish.Burn the midnight oil now and later enjoy the benefits of electricity Sorry trying to be funny here
Will keep a total of 10days for Biochem.In addition,Patho- for 2 hrs.

Wow , nice logo , we all should print it out , put it up on the fridge , hall way, wall of your study desk at your front , door way out, in , so it will remind you to study
p2b, you're the rare species like me, mom, with one son, one hubby, working PT 2 to 3 a week [ poor us ] and want to be a pediatrician still 
Keep it up girl, we can do it . As PT job, just remember to gear back to study mode asap when work hr done , do not hang onto the working mode too long .

That is some thinking.Just keep at it that is the key..Initially it is hard but once you get the momentum right you will be just fine.Good luck and thanks for dropping by.

P2B , me off work this week, but back in next week for few days .
Also busy with guests too.
I used to do 2 subj daily , like anatomy & patho, so can get motivation. One subj some times boring , but now focus one only patho. Then will be to anatomy, but when ever stuck, go to 2nd subj . as far as studying is done.

Dear Acintya,shwe,newbeg.,edie,medco.study499 & the rest of my forum friends- May the good Lord bless u all.
Studies is going ok-at a snails pace.I need to pick up my speed.As always there are lots of distractions-work,son,household chores, taking my mom-in-law out so she won't get bored.Its very difficult to focus but I'm trying my best.For all those who read this journal-if u r not married or don't have kids-its a good idea to remain that way until ur done with ur exams.I can boast & say I'm multitasking but it still a daily struggle.But I love being a mom & would never ever give up that privelege, never ever regret it. So let me get back to my studies. Already wasted my day taking son to daycare.Will have to take him to doc qt 4pm to reevaluate his sore throat complaints.So guys study study study,that includes me Will update u with my progress later on in the day

P2B, thanks for visiting my journal when i was down. I undersand your situation and admire your courage to pursuit your dream. 4-5 hours at work is not bad at all. Don't burn the midnight oil too early, coz you need to keep up till the end of this long journey.
i also started with path at first, and realized that isn't realistic, so I switched to physio. now i am in biochem too. I didn't like this subject very well when i was in med school--hated memorizing all the enzymes.... but this time it seems not as much pain as i expected it would be. i am working on glycolysis and oxydative phosphorylation today.

Hi guys,I'm back.No I was here all this time.Just realized I was spending too much time on the net but not reading.So I decided I won't write another word till I'm done with a few chps.What did I study? Well,not my Biochem like I had planned.I just took my First Aid and went thru the entire book to familiarize myself with the topics.Do I remember anything?Not really.But at least I have opened that book.2nd read will be better.
Hope u guys are on track with studies.Thanx for keeping an eye on me .GL & study hard.

Hey how old is ur son and howz he doing? My son is 2 yr old and his ear infns were just killing me and yesterday we got tubes fit in his ears. I hope he stays fine now. expect for th emom-in-law part look slike we are in the same boat!
