14 year old girl present with the diarrhea, vomiting, colicky abdominal pain, pain during urination. Painless, nonpruritic, nonpitting swelling on face, hand and leg also noted. Her younger brother has similar episode previously. lab test reveal low C2 and C4, C1 esterase inhibitor is normal but dysfunctional. After stabilization with with IV fluid, She was given some medication for the prophylaxis and she developed hirsutism after sometime. wot is the most significant complication of long term use of this medication.

A. prostate cancer
B. Arterial hypertension
C. breast cancer
D. postural hypotension
E. thrombosis

E. thrombosis >> Androgens increase risk for Thromboe mbolism and Hepatocelluar Carcinomas and Hepatic adenomas.

this is/was New to me Cos i didnt know that Hereditary Angioedema cud be treated with a Synthetic Androgen such as Danazol or Stanozolol. I guessed the answer from the Indication of Hirsutism.

actually i was worried about the format of the question while i was forming it. but now u removed my doubt.

lets go further.
wot is the deadliest immediate complication of HAE. which other drugs can b used for it.

u r great buddy,
in type 1 and type 2 HAE during acute attacks we can give commercially available C1-INH concentrates or FFP.....
now which drugs, other then danazol and stanozol can be given as a prophylaxis in HAE??
