I am scheduled to take my exam in one week and I feel good about it but I strained my back two weeks ago and it is still causing me pain. I have delayed my exam once already because of this back pain and stiffness and even went to the chiropracter. My L-5 is displaced anteriorly and is touching a nerve and causing pain that is constant but is more severe on some days than others. I can't sleep longer than 3 or 4 hours at night and have trouble sitting in a chair for longer than a couple of hours. I feel good enough to sit and enjoy a good meal or a good t.v. show but to sit for 8 hours and concentrate all day might be a challenge. I feel ready for the exam but I doubt I will be able to concentrate at the level I need to if I can only get 3 or 4 hours of sleep. What do you guys think? Give me some advice please. Should I delay it a week or so until I can go into it with a full night of sleep and with less pain or should I just suck it up and take it and hope I can get through it with minimal rest. Thanks guys!

No one can answer that question for you.. If you feel you can do it, then suck it up. Otherwise delay it. g'luck.

If I was in your shoes I'd just go close to pain killers overdose and do the test, mostly if, as you say, you feel ready for it. August is coming.... and the beach calls...

Try to take pain killers with the least drowzyness side effect possible prior to the exam and try doing a test exam for 8 hours see if you can take it...if you can't then change your date....you don't want to get a low score just because your body could not help your mind. Good luck

Thanks GloMD...sounds like you put some thought into your answer. I rescheduled my exam. It's nice to know that there are some fellow test takers out there that have some compassion.
