Hey colleagues...
On the first page of the ERAS application they ask us about if we have any Advanced Cardiac Life Support or Pediatric Advanced Life Support trainings... Is it really beneficial have them in order to be considered for interview?
Thanks...

its a part of the new intern orientation so i don't think it is really important for matching...

Well, I though it might affect somehow a process of selection for interview/etc... And I can do it for free...

Depends where you do it... i did it for $30 out in Connecticut.

(hosptials hold ACLS courses a few times a year, and if you do it through them, it's usually cheaper than going out to a community college or anywhere else)

so does it mean that it doesn't make any difference for the programs whether someone is ACLS PCLS certified or not...i mean will someone's application be preferred over the other b/c of it?

Young doc, Justice- pass me the details please. Am on a tight budget. Want to save everything for applications and travel.

There are no "details"... just contact your local hospitals and ask them about their next ACLS course and pricing.

No - most programs will ask you to take it as part of your hospital orientation.
