This is wht i havent been able to figure out. We all know tht the Job Situation for IMGs is quite worse in UK than US and esp for a IMG From Asia getting a Job there is far more tough then anywhere currently. Most of th eJobs r being Secured and the EU fellas r being prioritzed. So Some IMGs do get jobs and then they do the exact opposite wht they normally do. Thts kinda Unbelievable Atleast for Me. Cos wht i cant seem to fathom that How can a person who is dedicated to saving lives and keeps doing it for a better part of his/her life, Struggles to study aboard and despite all the difficulties gets a Job and Simply Turns Around One day goes ballistic.
No Amount Of hatred can change a human being in a single dose. And No Amount Hatred Explains wht they have done. I seriously Hope that the Events of UK dont Effect US but its entirely inmpossible for US not to react with Such Information.

I predict that it might become tougher down the road for IMGs that have no US LORs or any US experience that is going to be long enough for Department of Homeland Security/Stated Department to perform background checks. However, I don't see it coming any time soon.
And as far as the mentioned "doctors" goes - terrorists are terrorists, regardless of profession.

this is yet another thing that we are shocked about coz it's happening for the first time now. Give it some time, some more things will happen, and we'll get used to it. it was unimaginable a few years back, that we could actually bring down a mammoth building, now we discuss it in easier tones. similarly, further events happening in the world will only numb us after the initial chill. but, what has happened is an absolute insult to the medical profession. and inevitably, the rest of us will face the consequences.
do I sound cynical? maybe I am a little bit.

i am from same place wer these suspected indians doctors come from..i met there batch mates we all are of the opinion that it is just a case of mistaken identity...i feel bad that our reputation has been tarnished esp indian muslim doctors..the iraqi guy who is the main suspect has a family i just cant imagin how can he do this he small kids he cant justify his act foolish guy..

Guys , I just found this ..... read it ...
An FBI spokeswoman said Mohammed Asha and another suspect had contacted the Philadelphia-based Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates, as first reported in The Philadelphia Inquirer. Asha, a Jordanian physician of Palestinian heritage, contacted the agency within the last year, but apparently did not take the test for foreign medical school graduates, said the spokeswoman, Nancy O'Dowd.
"He was applying, (but) we don't believe he took the test," she said.

I agree With Silver Remember They r Still Searching WMDs in Iraq. Gosh They Still Havent Found They Although they have secured the Major Northern Oil Producing area of Iraq. And i dont get one thing that Y does everything has to do whenever they have the Elections Coming up. After all the Security Forces Set Up and still cant Secure the Internet. Has anybody thought tht Gordon Brown the New PM of UK is not a Good friend of Bush. This is all to Reel in the UK Support for Iraq.

I think the world can't be shocked any more after 9/11. Nothing more could damage the image of muslims than this event which is itself a "Mystery".
As humans and peace loving muslims it is indeed sad that we are unable to fight back the media trial going on and how Islam and muslims are being projected. We are practically helpless and only thing we can do is to hope and pray to God. In the meantime, wherever we are with our good manners and respect for humanity we should show on our part to the world that what they see is not true. Islam is the religion of peace as the word 'salamah' from which its name itself is derived means Peace.
As far as getting residencies are concerned after this, I personally think that this has absolutely no affect on the process. Americans have realized and they know the truth behind 9/11. A close friend of mine who did USMLE back in 97 and did his Fellowhsip in a reputed hospital back in Karachi, Pakistan recently joined residency in NY. He is a practising muslim with good manners, bearded with a cap and prays 5 times a day. So, have faith in God and yourself. If your destiny is there God will make ways for you.

I blame the "instructions" that these vulnerable people receive from evil-minded fanatics. Religion is neutral in this case and in any case of terrorism. There is terrorism in every part of the world, in every religious sect possible. It is people who cannot for themselves figure out good from evil. The 'agenda' is so inculcated in their minds that they go blind and act as if they are under hypnotism. One thing I am never able to understand how can ordinary people be influenced by such things. I am not talking about this particular incident. I saw a program in History Channel about cults etc. For example the 'Aum' cult in Japan responsible for the subway gas incident. How stupid do people have to be to believe someone saying that he is the GOD!!!!!!!!!

What strikes me the most is the amount of energy certain Islamic groups such as madrassa put into the study of religion. Kids are put into radical religious schools to study Koran non stop 24/7 for years so they can remember every word by heart, often uphold these words as universal law for all mankind on earth. I associate this kind of educational system equivalent to brain washing and it’s disturbing that their parents do not realize that. Imaging if this effort was used on studying and perfecting revenue generating subjects, then Islamic countries would be thriving instead of relying on their oil recourses or living in poverty.
Islam almost exclusively monopolizes religious extremists that mass murder innocent bystanders, portrayed in the media. Of course, these are the minorities, however what strikes me is that of the many Muslims I’ve met most actually sympathize with terrorist groups and Osama Bin Laden. They are looked as heroes in their eyes. Then there is the peaceful Muslims who distain their damaged image, then why don’t you demonstrate against the extremists and openly express your disagreement with terrorists point of view, and do good deeds to repair the damage e.g. raise funds for the 9/11 victims in the name of Islam? There are many ways to repair your image and most importantly one has to distance from extremism.
