Standard Dianostic Workup in COPD Pts

1. CXR
2. EKG
3. ABG

can anyone confrim if this is correct?

I am not too sure doyoudig...ABG could be done before ECG to determine Po2 levels to start on Home O2 treatment...As i said, I am not too sure-

PFT's too as FEV1 has prognostic implication

I'm not sure but...
COPD is clinical diagnosis and work up begin with:
1. PFTs- spirometry
2. oxymetry
3. CXR
4. ABG
pls tell me if I'm wrong. confused

From my knowledge

1 PFTs

2 CXR to exclude other causes

3 If FEV1<50% predicted do ABG; If FEV1=50-60% predicted measure pulse oxymetry and if Sat <88% do ABG

I learned it this way but I don't remember from where... so if you find it different let me know...
