i found the exam extremely difficult and confusing. especially psyche, preventive medicine and a bit of gyne.
i had got 73% on uworld (completed) but i had given the exam about 5 days after finishing u world. i.e. had no chance to improvise after that. i had not evaluated myself on any other test. had no time for that. however i did solve those 3 blocks u get on the usmle cd . had got just 13 questions out of the 136 wrong.
But somehow the exam was very difficult !!!i am scared i wont be able to make it to the 90ies despite a 73 on uworld.
had no problems with my concentration etc. in fact my concentration got better as i entered last few blocks...
any seniors(coke, bbb and others) have got any idea why this happened. and what should i expect on my scorecard?

I am in the same boat buddy . I was also well prepared but I also had a hell of exam , almost same as you , a lot of weird psych questions and the rest was very twisted and vague .
I heard that hard exam are easier to score . I hope that is true .I guess that there is nothing we can do , just wait and pray .....................

everyone feels scared after their test. With 70+ on Uworld, and no problems with concentration during the exam, try to be more confident, as i'm sure you did fine.

Hey Motorola and Doc_Clotaire, I took my step 2 on 5th june. It was a very very tough exam. I had done UW twice with aound 70 percent average. But I felt as if exam has hit me straightI I found it more difficult than UW. I was sure that i will either flunk or be in low 80,s. But I got my score last week, it was 251/99. I couldnt beleive it.
Jist of the story is , the exam is very tough and vague, but results are realtive. So dont worry.. i know it would be difficult, waiting for the result. But belive me .. wait will be worth it and u guys will do well.

I am sorry to hear your experiences, mine was quite the contrary, my test was fair and not vague at all.
But everybody, and I mean EVERYBODY I know and heard saying the test was difficult (both for step 1 and 2CK) got 95+.
I think you'll have great news, just hope I will too...

Hey arlete, I mirror your opinions as far as the exam experiences and most people who had a tough exam did well! Hey motorola, your UW score should give you a greeeeaaaattt deal of confidence that when you can overcome UW....the actual exam was a STROLL In the park! Good Luck.

i too have similar feelings i got difficult i could not relax for the single moment in my exam and i made 5 or 6 questions wromg which i remember.i don what was it. let we trust in GOD AND PRAY

Hey Motorola and doc_clotaire,
We're all rooting for you guys. From what I know and have seen.. people who come out saying the exam was hard get the best scores.. most of them 99's!
These exams are quite vague and you tend to remember questions which you spent more time on.. questions which you were unsure about. That leads to even more confusion and fear about the result.
My advice is relax and take it easy! Fingers crossed for the scores...

You guys will do great!!! A very good friend and I just took it and it was difficult for us both and we got 98/99...you guys will do more then fine I'm sure...the thing is that when you know more you start thinking things more and after the exam you try to think questions throughout...so don't do that...try to relax and find a constructive way to get the stress out...I went to cancun and that worked just fine!! I even forgot my name !!! jajajaja.... you guys did your best and that's what really matters!!!! GL, I'll remember all of you guys waiting for a score in my prays and also for those studying or taking USMLE's soon since I understand you all!!!
