Guys, If someone does have a clinical experience as in clerkship or externsip where is it suppose to be mentioned on the application or CAF on eras ????

think it should be under "Experiences"

clerkship usually means basic training, then an im clerkship is a must in every med school and is where you learn the basics; in contrast an im elective could be a cardiology or critical care rotation, that you chose because you wanted to know more about that subject.

hey I asked this to the ERAS support and they replied saying that there no place on the CAF for this so it should be mentioned in the personal statement or the cv

I would mention it there also... but i am sure you can mention that in the application... read the description of the Experiences page...

Coca, if you mention it under experiences, you select volunteer or work?... Anyone else, please...

so basically clerkship and elective are the under grad USCE. Now is it more benificial to do a externship ....................

on the application worksheet (using that first then transferring all info to the web CAF), it says "Page 5 - Experiences For each relevant work, research, and volunteer experience/position provide the requested information. include clinical and teaching experiences as work, and include unpaid extracurricular activities and committees you have served on as volunteer experiences" this says to me - externship and observership = work experience research = research experience volunteering without clinical training = volunteer experience

hi cocacola, will observership come under "work" exp??? as it is unpaid and u arent exactly doing any clinical work, just observing.......externship wud be under work exp Wat say???

that also was a bit of problem for me... however i resolved it is a teaching experience, therefore i will include it in work experience... ... biting my lip with that one!
