Dr. samar: Sorry, you'll have to get used to study from the net. That's probably what you are going to do during residency. The books you need to study are Kaplan Lecture Notes, and subscribe to usmleworld. Do Kaplan q-bank (it's a subscription too) if you are not satisfied with where you stand afterwards. Good luck!

Q book has questions, they are different from q-bank, but are easy. The DVDs are lectures and are very good, specially with a crazy man called Dr. Fischer, you laugh and learn at the same time. Psychiatry is very good, too. It all depends on how you like to learn (lectures x books x questions). If you have the time and the money, get them all!

you need a Guru to show you the right path they say... and then it is easy for you to walk. Well that guru for step 1 is Dr. goljan and for step 2 he is Dr. Fischer. You have to listen to them to understand what I am saying. some guys on this forum have said that it takes a lot of time to watch the dVDs, and that they have prepared straight from the notes. I would however recommend that you listen to these gurus at least. Forgeting the exams for a moment .. they will help you to become better clinicians. And that is a lifelong investment.
