Is there anybody here that had a gap of more than 2 years in practicing Medicine and could get a temporary license in the state of Illinois for the first year of residency? I've been away for a while and am afraid they will deny me the license because of this, so I'd like to know for sure if I am at risk of that happening. Thanks!

I am not sure. You have to prove "professional capacity" if you were graduated more than 2 years ago and they give a list of options they might consider for it. They don't specify time, but somebody told me you are not supposed to have a gap of more than two years. I don't want to start a rumor and would like to hear from somebody with experience before I freak out. If you want to take a look, maybe you'll be able to interpret it better than me: http://www.idfpr.com/dpr/apply/forms/md-t.pdf My husband thinks I'll be OK, but I would like to be sure so I can organize my life accordingly.
