okay here i go!
well it took me 6 to 7 months for preparation.....i did only kaplan notes in usa was enrolled inkaplan programme ...did all the videos of kaplan which were latest n realy good..especially dr conrad fisher is awsome...did total more than 3 time revision of kapaln notes n some with usmle world n qbank ...i did usmle world once with online q bank n then the difficult topics i wrote them down n revised once more before exam... i studied at stretch from 10 to to 10 every day...was encouraged by ppl on this forum n had pretyy solid base of step1 to start with n my score was 94...
well i postponed my exam once for at least a week but it didnt added any significance..i did my nbme 1month before exam which was form 1 n scored 670 which was fine for me...then i finished q bank quite early in preparation which was good to bulid your base n prepare u for usmle world questions..n scored 75 on both of them...took my kaptest simulation 10 days before exam n svored 82 ...
but the main thing i want to emphasize is the fact that i postponed the exam n felt too tired didnt had any energy to study in last days but i saved my energy for the last day so it worked for me....so dont postpone your exam if u are doing well.
so then night before exam the same problem as with every one i had difficulty with sleeping...man that was night mare my heart was pounding n i had my whole body full of tremendous enrgy with no signs of sleep...any how n some how i mangaed to sleep but got at least 7 hours of sleep which was good n i woke up fresh...went to centre had nice 2 omlet breakfast
took redbull which i was having for 2nd time in my life but i think at the right time....n it worked for me..prevented me from feeling dizzy...so i strated doing my first block nice n smooth but i had problem with psychiatry...vague questions
but as other ppl said i didnt had much of internal medicine vague questions cz all question were comprehensable n realy equally distributed from every specility in internal medidcine...i did prety silly mistakes which i tihnk led me to loose points but any how time was running out n i realy had some time only to revise 2 blocks in the whole test ...rest i had to rush in the end....any how reached last 2 blocks working agisnt my stamina and concentration and finished in rush...but finally it was over n i was relieved only to worry latter about my silly mistakes cz i changed from right to wrong upto 5 questions n felt i would not pass...
any how got my score yesterday n it was an achievement...
my advice to all of you would be stick to kapaln n usmle world cz going to too many books wont give you additional benefit in last days..may be if in tha begining of your study if u want to take lookat other books just for new data n additional points, then it may be justifiable...
rest is that keep faithn keep praying cz that is the essence of it ...

Hi , just like to know kap center prep by ur time is 2005 or 2006 books & video ur study with , since have frd already study in 2005 with old book 2005, video, she is wondering that nee dto re read 2006 new books with new video again to get her serious prep . will it b any much different, both books r in orange yellow color with yr different on cover as 2005 , then another is 2006 .
