When Pulm Emb is suspected: In one block in UW I had 2 qs & both of them where asking about the next step--> the first one had no investig done, so I answered an X-ray, that was right & in the explanation they said that: 1 xray, 2 EKG & ABGs, 3--V/Q scan In the second quest they already made an x-ray to the pt and it was normal (as in most of PE x-rays) and the next step was a V/Q scan??... So now i'm lost , is it V/Q scan after X-ray or EKG & ABGs Plz respond

x ray first, then abgs, and after that v/q scan but if the suspision is high and choice also mentions heparin, mark heparin, as giving heparin will not have much harmful effect, and if the patient has pe, thats wht he needs, after that u can do the v/q scan
