the best ttt is according to the Plat count

first line----> prednisone

if plat count 20000 - 10000---->spleenectomy is the ans

if plat count is < 10000---> IV Igs + RhOGam

Very good prog

U might also want to consider giving Platelets if Platelet count is <20,000, or if there is active bleeding.

hey about this.. when do you start the patient on steroids?? i read somewhere that it is started only after platelet counts are below 30,000.. it was in a question bank.. the patient had a platelet count of 60,000 and i picked steroids as answer and it said no.. correct answer observation and explained that steroids should not be given until pt ct less than 30,000.. can someone tell me is this true??
