In the diag of PU, the first step is a barrium swallow or Endoscopy & biopsy.. & if Peptic ulcer is diagnosed & duedenal ulcer is excluded..+ history of NSAIDS, do we still need to do a serum urase test to exclude H Pylori

If a patient presents with symptoms like Nausea, vomiting, weight loss ----> Next step would be Endoscopy No such symptoms---> NSIM---> H.pylori testing by serology.

Peptic ulcer is not a clinical dignosis ,from my experince in the hospitals ,if the pt is having symptoms of PUD we do endoscopy first step along with the lab results(serum urase test)

agree w/ Sprint. The use of Endoscopy will depend on Pts Age and presenting Sx's as mentioned. If no RF are present then serology
