Guys, what do you think about Conrad Fischer's Internal Medicine question book? I did some question in timed mode today and they seemed to be good, but I had a disappointing perfomance around 50%... This step 2 is really too tough for me considering my little clinical experience... Has anyone of you ever used that? Do you think it's good? What percent do you think I should try to reach?

Most of the Qs from this book were posted and discussed on the forum a while ago... Many people concluded that the Qs are weird and too twisted to be good for educational purposes...

This is relieving to know... I was already starting the "post-questions depressive phase"... Thanks

Ya, I have this book, It's for IM boards, & it's very difficult

  #5

its not for step2CK....

Hello!
Actually, this book is used for the 30% hardest questions on step 2 as well. It is a tool to excel! Not just to pass.
So YES it IS for step 2ck, as long as you understand how hard it is.
Keep trying!!

How could we/I ... sad , thought will study whole day, , whole night, all I did was following you like a child as MT did , she started it grin , I was quietly studying at home, she breaking the news that .. he's here , he's here , answering the Qs , my Qs .

When p4u said u will b in the 2 threads ,.. ask Dr. C.F in Int med , then The match .. so I was relieved.. ok , just have few min aday to follow this 2 threads , even that is alot already as u saw in each thread , so can focus studying , instead of in forum days & nights .winkgrin

Anyway , will still follow u, but promise will study too , by compromising sleep & social, family time grin , since u always has very good sincere advice with great support , encoragement to usmle prepper & residency application advice .

So have lots of Qs , will ask later since EST ~ am here .

But few Qs ,

1. The Int Med book is the Fischer's Book then , is the book Qs are same as on line kap Int Med Q bank I bought last yr early or not .

2. If not ...
in next yr when am studying for st 2 ...
do I still have to study the Fischer Int Med book plus get the on line kap Int Med Q bank again , since , that will be totally different or alot more with updates too .

3. Nothing to do with the Fischer's Book.
I had attened kap center before the 2006-07 st 2 kap books out, so I had already had studied with 2005-2006 old st 2 books by time is the new one , though same yellow orange color without kaplan new kaplan logo on the cover of the books .
I do plan to go review all st 2 video in next yr , with my old kap books & notes from old video I did last yr at center .
Q... Do I need to re listen all videos , ? DVDs of step 2 with exchange to new st 2 books all of them & re- write all the st 2 notes from new DVD by time at center again ?? by time when I am starting more or less around in next early 1/3 of the yr ??

4. Any advice re ; need to read at least the kap st 2 Int med with video notes I did last yr at center for better st 1 score or it has nothing to do with it , in st 1 .

5. Any chance there will b live lecture other than in USA for step 2 , step 3 in very near future ??

Thank you for being here .nodcoolnod

NOTE ....... I also c/p this post under ur main thread .. ask Dr. C.F ..., pl do answer this at ur main thread site , so all ur answer will be under the same thread that easy good to follow , search in the future .

Thanks .nodnodnod

HI,
1. The IM question BOOK has ZERO overlap with the question bank.
2. There is no plan for live step 2 or 3 outside of the US for now.
3. The Step 2 book coming in JANUARY will be HUGELY different from previous ones.

Peace,
Sri Fischerji
