Kaplan Qbank USMLE

hi all,

i am taking exam in two months.. have studied for step one for over a year now. was not focussed in the beginning... did usmleworld and then took the nbme also and got pathetic scores.. got a 300 ,which is fail in nbme and was very demoralised so postponed my exam.. in uworld got an average of 45%, which is really not enough.. now i am wondering if i should do the uworld again cos it would be a repetition and i wont be able to access myself..

also is goljan audio enough along with kaplan notes or the text book is essential.. cos i started doing it and its taking a lot of time..doing the robbins review with q's and katzung review q's only...

somehow have a feeling that i am not studying enough and a feeling of hopelessness is coming over me... also the fact that i wasted a whole year doing nothing is getting to my head.. have read kaplan thrice but dont know how much i remember.. was doing kaplan interface q's and was getting around 70% in them..

any advice would be appretiated...

thanks..

Hi there...
now remember this UW is made just as a "practice and learn" tool, it is not met to assess your level.
and since you have 2 months to go ... just do as many questions as you can from UW, Q bank, Q book... and read First Aid well and try not to memorize info, UNDERSTAND them and you may need to refer to the bigger books for that, but just don't waste your time dwelling in a subject.
Finish FA and UW, Q-bank and read and understand the explanations and you'll be all set for the test.
actually FA alone "if you understand every bit in it" guarantees you a score above 80 !
good luck !
