Hi there:
It is going to be a very very common question on this forum but I want an answer please,,,,
My situation is: 80/83/passed (all 1st attempt), almost 7 years from graduation, 2 years of FP experience in Pakistan, 9 months of working as a Medical Assistant in Canada (for a Family Physician, for the last 9 months), 2 good FP LORs (one from Canadian physician), am trying to take Step 3 by December or January........
I also have almost 6-8 months experience in Psychiatry.....have 2 LORs in Psychiatry as well.
1 year of research work (not clinical, but data analyst) in Canada (have LOR from clinical educator there)
I am a Canadian Citizen.
What are my chances of getting FP? and/or Psychiatry?
Please tell me what else can I do to get a residency this year. I have good communication skills, OK with interviews as well.
please please reply and if possible can someone tell me about some programs?

I've heard psychiatry is one of the easiest to get into, so I think you'll be fine. Apply for both, it will increase your chances.
