A small number of multiple-choice items in the 2007 USMLE Orientation Materials contain exhibits involving audio and/or video clips. Instructions for practicing with items with associated media clips on Step 1, Step 2 CK, and Step 3 are provided in the Tutorials for each Step examination in the orientation materials.

Multiple-choice items with associated media clips will be introduced in USMLE examinations no earlier than Summer 2007. An announcement will be posted to the USMLE website approximately 2 months before any items with associated media clips appear on an actual USMLE examination. Additional information will be posted to the USMLE website as it becomes available.

I am guessing this will probably include things like heart/breath sounds (physiological and pathological), physical examinations involiving positive or negative signs, etc.

This will probably make the test somewhat harder. What do you guys think?

The sample MCQ for the step 1 includes a murmur and a video of a textbook classic case of Parkinson (you could not miss it)

They are pretty easy, you could see it for yourself so I guess is nothing to worry about grin

I don't know ... maybe someone who has been able to take the exam (with videos) could tell if it would be easy or not. I think most of the videos would be of "normal" patients. Just a gut feeling.
