i m little confused here ... wat diary u talking abt ??? not aware of diary for drinking ..... well after CAGE if any one answer is yes u can say well Mr.. as a concerned physician i wud advise u to blah blah blah.................. while counselling be short and sweet as there is no lots of time for it ..... u will get a only 1 tick if u do counselling , either long and lengthy or short and sweeet .....

if sp says yeah i m interested in quittin say ok great blah blah blah lets make an appopintment next week and we will discuss abt it .......... so watever specific counsellin u thinking abt can b done during next weeks appointment which u have already mentioned so u will get a tick .

and if he is not willing to quit then blah blah just let me know and i will b there always ........
no need to go in details as in main counselling u have already mentioned side effects of drinking and good social workers in hospital and other resouces available ... so u have sent him message abt everything but its his wish afterall.......

Alright smal i guess i know what you mean , since u are follwing UW so do i , here is my impression from Mr. dermatology's suggestions and ur querry.I will follow that way and if it works for u best wishes..here i go

You told me that u drink 'x' glasses a day 'x' days a week for past 'x' yrs.Do you know that alchol can cause problems with ur liver, brain and heart. In order to Avoid these health risks it is very important that you start taking steps to reduce your alchol intake. And there are many ways that you can do that. One of the ways is by joining a support group. Would you be interested in doing that. Besides I would also like you to keep a drinking journal to keep track of how much you drink/keep track of ur progress. We will schedule a follow up appointment in 'x' wks times & go over with ur progress/concerns.Does that sound.....
