UW says that Antimetabolites Act on G1 phase and S phase While Katzung Board Review says that Antimetabolites r Cell Cycle Specific and they act only on the S phase of the Cycle. Any Thoughts on this Point.

i follow lippin........clearly mentions.......cell cycle specific....S phase.. the name itself suggests.......has actions on of purine and pyimidine metabolites.....all has to happen in S phase.....not G1

i agree with drduck. antimetabolite affect only S phase. coz action of them is to inhibit pyrimidine and purine synthesis which occur only in S phase
