hi everyone, i am doing clinical research in cardiology, have 3 months of USCE, GC holder, 3lor, but dont have the most imp thing.......my scores are 78/82/CS passed....but ck passed in 2nd attempt.....i know i have more chances in fp, can someone plz advice me if my research and USCE(both in int. med) will have a negative impact on fp programs???? wt can i do to still convince them that i am interested in fp?

hi priya,
Family Medicine programs basically look for a strong interest in FM which is even more important than the scores. If you wish to do FM, try to get a shadowing opportunity with a family practitioner. You can also try shadowing an OBGY since some programs like that or pediatrics. By the way, are you seriously interested in FM. If yes, think of all the points which interest you so that you can write a good personal statement. Your USCE and research exp in IM will help you, not hurt you! Just try to expand it into other areas of FM. Good luck!
