if a non US grad get a research position in a university, is he/she eligible for o1 visa? I dont want j1 ( they dont wanna sponsor it eithe due to long processing times) & they arent sure if i can work on a visitor's visa. someone plz reply

o1 is for those special people who have international/national recognition.

To the best of my knowledge, O1 is not a good option... renewal process needed frequently, not possible to change visa category, etc. Only used as last resort.
