Good morning ; first i want to thank everyone inadvance for your consideration .
My name is leila i'm a foreign medical graduate ( i have a doctor of medicine diploma from
Oran university of medicine ALGERIA) i`m an US residente and i 'm currently preparing my ECFMG
step 1 exam . i get an equivalency of my diploma from WES , they gave me: First professional
degree in medicine (Doctor of Medicine) from a regionally accredited institution
I am interested in physician assistant program ,Please i need your advice . As a doctor do you
think that what i`m going to do ( physician assistant ) is beneficial for me or no ?. really i `m lost .

1- In the past they gave you the chance to take the PA test, but now they DONT
2- They make you go BACK to school for 2 years
3- You are better preparing for the exams and trying to take a teaching job in a college, or highschool or in a insurance company.
4- Good luck for the exam

Leila, try to go back to your profession first. Most doctors will not feel fulfilled working as Physician Assistants. Many doctors are not good teachers (guilty myself!). Don't give up without trying at least once. You'll have to invest money anyway, so go for the whole nine yards. You decided to be a doctor in Algeria, that's probably your call!

Leila , I agree with arlete . Do not give up without trying. There are many like you here , some are still struggling and some have already accomplished their goal. You will do too InshaAllah. GL.
