Sooo you get bilious vomiting with this BUT is their the ABSENCE or PRESENCE of abdominal distenition?

I am working thru UW ?s and two questions are contradicting each other.

i guess abdo distension willl b there as it is kinda intestinal obstruction .......

I think duodenal atresia is too proximal to lead to an abdominal distension. You'll find an upper abdominal swelling, at maximum.

yeah i agree with u arlete, think in it like congenital pyloric stenosis ..where there is OLIVE shaped mass in the right upper quadrant without destintion so i think dudenal atresia would do the same .it is just distal to pylorus .and the atresia not involving the whole intestine

Getting bilious vomiting could be occur due to:
a duodenal atresia without abdominal distension and a small intestinal obstruccion that presents with abdominal distension.
Maybe that was the case? raised eyebrow

i dont think that u will find abdominal distention in duodenal atresia.

Their is NO abdominal distention.
