Wait till after 6 months post MI.
mortality is highest within 3 months of the MI (near 40 %).
After 6 months it drops to 6%.

checking ejection fraction is a must but u won't delay as almost u can't do anything about it, all u do is put in the CCU, prior to the operation & try to stabilize (add ACE if not there & not CI, put an implantable defibrilator) if surgery is a must or cancell surgery & try medical ttt.
for post MI, agree with DrVirgo
