guys i took my exam on the 21st..way after i had planned but im happy its over. to tellu the truth by postponing it i had lost that zing to give my best..a week before i was just waiting to get over with it.
the exam was pretty easy compared to uworld.i fell short of time for the first two blocks.just couldnt concentrate.was exhausted.
lot of preventive,abt 4 ecgs,1-2 biostat ques-ppv,few ethics,select the best choice que on acid base,pulmonary sys,Git.more im,paed.hardly any surg.ques were quite ok.
what i'd like to correct,re do- first of all plan how many months u need to study it may be more than others usually take.go by your capacity ,speed,situation in life and then stick to that plan.i would say1 month to just read all subjects once superficially.then read systemwise from all subj ,to understand better for imp topics(nephro,cardiac,endo) go through Fa preclinical primer only and then read kaplan.and solve the uw for that topic.this will take very long but its worth it.very helpful to know what to stress on in kaplan notes.then a final reading,qbook ,read notes of uw and if possible first aid.and the ck cd.
ofcourse i could not do all this but now looking back i think this would be good enough.
also the day before please sleep well ,its very imp or else all ur 3-4 months hardwork may go futile if the night before u are not rested well.
i did sleep early but was so stressed kept tossing till i finally slept at 2:00.
and please dont set limits to urself reading others views like oh, i cant do more then xyz uw blocks coz most on the forum can't.ofcourse u get a general idea but don't make mental boudaries.
and there is this article usmle for the dummies,and for the spirit .i strongly recommend reading it to get confidence.
i really dont know if i should be giving advice until i get my scores ..anyways just wanted to help coz i got a lot of support from the forum.whatever happens our fear is baseless coz this is just a paper tiger..do not waste precious time panicking.just plan and study,nothing is worth wasting ur life cribbing and fearing.i know its easier said than done..still.
