I know that this must have been discussed a lot, but I want a very frank opinion based on one's knowledge and experiences. Is there any importance, any at all, given to the fact that an IMG may have secured an advanced degree in US e.g. MPH/MS?

Thanks for the info catmd!!! But MPH deals with basic principles in biostatistics and public health---Well the degree itself will provide some benefit or else some basic research expereince should be there?

At least for the Univ. based progs, research is important. People with MPH have some research experience and it will help.

I would really love to hear bbb's opinion on this, since he would give the other side's point of view on this!

My opinion would be that an advanced degree isn't clinical training. That's all that I am going to say.
