Hi guys, I am done with the exam yesterday.Here is some useful tips for the exam:
about the exam:First of all I praise my Lord Jesus Christ who enabled me to accomplish this:
I had 12 cases and all were from usmle world.The exam is doable if you manage your time very well for which you need a lot of practice....I reached the centre at 7.30a.m.At 8 started our orientation and at 9 I think we started the encounters.All the proctors were very helpful and very good.The SPs were also good except a little hard with the abdominal pains bec they were acting as if they had severe pain.I made them as comfortable as possible,used drape in all cases and used expressions on my face which I have never done before(some acting on our part too)The telephone encounter was the easiest as no physical examination.I always used to forget pelvic/rectal and breast examinations while practising however in the exam I managed to mention it to the SPs in the counselling as well as in the work up.We also had a good meal in the afternoon breads and potato salad,green salad and cold cuts.Cookies too which I kept for the 15 min break.
Please don't forget to see the CD which the ecfmg has sent you bec it is very useful.The exam is exactly that way.
Now about my preparation:My spouse helped me a lot....a lot ....a lot.We used to practice practice and practice..that is the only secret to success.We have a baby 9 months old and she did quite well too.
I did only usmle world,did not do first aid.Usmleworld was very good for me.Rest I'll write later.
